Meet the Team

We are a dedicated team of 9 who are all highly qualified in Early Years education and are all trained in Paediatric First Aid, Health and Safety (level 2), Food Hygiene, Safeguarding/Child Protection (level 2 – Junior Team, Level 3 senior team), Managing children’s behaviour, SENco induction (2 day course).

Buzy Bees has a 1:8 ratio; this means one adult to eight children aged 3-4.5 years & 1:4 for our 2 year olds. All adults presently employed in Buzy Bees are trained or in the process of embarking on courses to ensure high standards of care for your child. We feel that young children must progress at their own rate, building on their own experiences. The adults working with them need to be sensitive to every individual child’s stage of development to help them move on from the standards they have already reached. Well organised and appealing play activities, combined with sensitive adult input is one of, if not the most effective means of ensuring learning.

The Committee and other staff
The committee is a group of parents who want to be involved in the early year’s education of their children. We are not allowed to run without them and their work is of great value, ensuring the future of the group. They meet termly overseeing the running of the group, organising fundraising and offering new ideas. We welcome new members, you can make a difference to your child’s time at Buzy Bees. Please feel free to talk to the Manager if you are interested. There are three main officers in the committee:

Chairperson – The chair is responsible for the running of the group. They liaise with parents, staff and other committee members and are available to discuss any issues you wish to raise.

Secretary – Responsible for issuing the agenda prior to a meeting and distributing them. Also involved with publicity issues including advertising. This can be a shared position and plenty of teamwork is involved.

Treasurer – Oversees and is responsible for everything financial to do with the group.

Bank Staff – Who has achieved their NVQ 3 and is fully trained.
